A gentleman - through and through - everyone that knew Michael knew that family was the most important thing to him; nothing was ever too much trouble for his “five girls”, he battled for them for 7 years always wearing the biggest and warmest smile, giving 150% to every family occasion and making everyone feel so welcome and loved.
One of Michael’s major achievements was fulfilling a lifetime goal and that was to learn how to fly. Michael spent many years studying hard to pass all the necessary pilot exams in order to make his dream a reality, failing an exam didn’t deter him – if anything it made him more determined to succeed and that he did. Michael enjoyed an amazing few years flying all around the world from London Heathrow to the Great Barrier Reef– not many people can say they flew under the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, but that was just another day in the life of Michael.
We will remember Michael as quite simply the best husband, dad and granddad.
The Michael Martin Fund
The Mater Hospital (Dr. Sadlier, the Renal team and St. Johns ward especially) did so much for Dad - we want to make sure that they can continue to do their amazing work for other people - Dad always wanted to help people - he would do anything for anyone and this fund will keep his kind heart and memory alive.
Tara, Gillian & Elaine will be partaking in the Mini Marathon on the 6th June 2016 to raise money for the cause - please be as generous as you can.
